PVLS Anniversary Thank You!
Just want to thank everyone at Pioneer Valley Live Steamers for the great time that was had this weekend..
Granted -> Saturday night was a bit iffy weather wise unless your home was up near the Arctic Circle -> but there is nothing that PVLS could do about that
Those of us who were guests have no idea how much work goes into something like this..
it was good to see so many 3/4" and 1" locos out and running.
Hope I am around for the 75th !

Oh come now, you can't post this without sharing photos!
I hope in about 25 years, I am in a very good position to be able to attend many, if not all, highlight anniversaries - kids will be out of college (hopefully), I will have an engine done, or two.... And be able to take vacation!

Eh...now I am going to have to plug my phone into my computer so that I can resize photos to attach to this thread.
Tomorrow I will sort it out.
Highlight of the week was being in the position where I was able to put a very responsible 12 year old behind the throttle. He had never ridden on a high line before, but was able to explain and demonstrate proper operation of a steamer...so why not?
There has to be a first time for everyone
this gentleman is Colt Stewart - he brought 3 BvB locos with him...

Re: PVLS Anniversary Thank You!
she has never been off since 1966 -> except when in need of a new boiler (which always takes longer than expected).
Bob B graciously loaned her to me for the weekend so that I would have something to run without lugging my camel up and back at 10 MPG in a 32 year old camper
change of coal from now-non-available-Welsh to anything-else is taking some getting used to.
have any suggestions?

Glad you got to the tracks and had a good time.
Definitely some great visiting, riding, trains, plenty of food. Maybe we'll get some insulated ponchos vs Mother Nature next time.....nah. Good to see you Bill, Pat that was me talking to Jim at the workshop trainshed.
Maybe been ten years Jack?
You all keep making chips and steam and we'll see you soon.
All the Best,
Paul

It was a nice Meet with many old friends and a few new ones were made. The hot to chilly & wet weather didn't bother the hearty Canadians. LOL
