Dwight Durkee wrote an article about the single cylinder "gas station" lift he installed on his railroad in the 1950's. The Durkees' railroad now sits under Apple Campus One in Cupertino.

Thank you, Daris. Not what I was thinking of, particularly with the oil leakage possibility. I'm thinking of the purely mechanical lift.
