She's alive

Post by cbrew »

Hi all, Today was a very good day at "Fat guy garage".
The boiler that I designed, machined, and welded myself has successfully been fired today.
The burner I built worked wonderfully.
It is almost scary how hot this burner is, beautiful blue flame.
this is a huge weight off my shoulders to see her come alive.

I want to personally say thank you to Marty for offering up tips and answering my questions on this project
I can take one more item off my bucket list..

A delight to see this locomotive come to life!
I've been honored to witness many stages of this build, and look forward to steaming again with you.

Very neat! congrats! did you make a new frame from scratch or just the tail piece added? I guess water jetted it all for the frame additions?
