Has anyone built a "New" Shay in 7 1/2" ?

You should also take a look at the Locogear Shay, which is the Western Maryland #6, still operating at Cass. Much larger than a Schroeder (Allen) Shay. 10" boiler in 1-1/2" scale. The WM6 is a 160 ton Shay. I hope to build both the WM6 and the Greenbrier, Cheat & Elk #12 4 truck Shay, basically from the same castings. The GCE #12 is an approximately 200 ton Shay. The Locogear castings are very nice and John J. is still supplying them.

I believe this is a scaled up Kozo Shay, saw it at the LALS 50th anniversary meet now a long time ago (2007). Not sure if it is a new shay or an old shay in terms of plans.

Photos part 2. It was nicely detailed. I remember it had some issues and did not run much that day.

It takes a lot of brass to make a locomotive like that. The engine itself is a scaled-up original Shay (no crank bracket).

The WM 6 would be a super neat model! Only a few I think have been built. It's still not as large as a USRA mikado or LE pacific etc to transport but would make for very unique model that's quite powerful.
