I have added the plug in the top cylinder cover and adding the cylinder cocks. I am using some details from the engine build for the original Clishay.
Also adding the piston rings as per the original design.

CliShay/Big Bertha question
Re: CliShay/Big Bertha question
Thanks, Scotty.
The engine in the above picture is now happily being restored by its new owner north of Seattle, WA.
I have a second identical engine restored and now steaming in my 17 ft. Steam Thistle Launch.
Pic attached with a view of the cylinder cocks.
More fun coming soon.

Re: CliShay/Big Bertha question
I have a friend up in your part of the country who has been contemplating the purchase of a steam launch. He is trying to weight need vs toy.
I hope and pray that he does the right thing and tosses all that common sense stuff out the window and get us... I mean purchases the launch!!!

Scotty:
There is nothing to weigh about getting a steam launch.
If you have navigable waterways nearby, like being on the water, and like steam machines, then it's a MUST HAVE!

Re: CliShay/Big Bertha question
Did you get the engine completed? Did you have an issue with the valve and port face not seeming to match up?
Re: CliShay/Big Bertha question
See attached photos. Make slide valve to the Clishay drawing.
