Installed a working signal on the line. I tried to post a picture several ways but they keep coming out upside down. To get around this problem, draw a circle and then a line coming down from it. The signal looks something like that. Sorry, that is the best I can do here.

It is one year since the final rail was tapped into the main. As of today, all the external track is done and usable. The trinkets are all in place except the Pere Marquette wig wag signal and a sign or two. A lot was accomplished this year due to Covid restrictions and even more was done when the railroad I work for was shut down and sent home until test results from the other crew were completed. Following social distancing protocol, Hospers Royal Scot was run in the morning and the Rexall Locomotive was run in the evening. This pretty much brings to a close the Kirkwall Central post. After 6 1/2 years(?), it is time to move on to other projects. And now you know.........the rest of the story. Good Day!

Signal 642 was the eastbound automatic signal at the east Portal of the Musconetcong Mountain tunnel on the Lehigh Valley Railroad’s mainline at Pattenburg, New Jersey. I passed that signal innumerable times while running trains between the New York Metropolitan area and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. A wreck brought down the signal and the number board came to live with me.

I should expand a bit on the 642 number. I feel that any stuff on my line should have some live steam or railroad history to it. All of the signage and jewellery should have a story as to how I got it or where it came from. Not just something purchased.
With this signal, for it to have the "G" indication, Keith mentioned that it needed to have a mileage to make it official. I could have put the footage of the track at that point but that is dull. We are 105 territory on the OSR so we have no signals. How about ask an engineer from my favourite railroad and a famous live steamer to boot if he has a special mileage number in mind. We now have a signal with a story to tell. My other mileage marker has 17 on one side and 14 on the other. 17 is the mileage at the north wye switch at Guelph Junction. 14 is Dave Keon's number when he played for the Maple Leafs.

Just to clarify.....the number 642 doesn’t mean that the signal was at mile 642. It was located at LVRR Mile 64 on track No.2 the westbound signal would have been 641 or mile 64 Track No.1.
