There is a fantastic new book out by David Fletcher which includes a chapter and some contemporary drawings of this locomotive. This book is also becoming the gold reference for Baldwin color theory and detailing. Get it now as it will likely sell out quickly and then it will cost a fortune to buy. The high price and international shipping are worth it. It's a very large format book with excellent, novel information.

I am not sure what exists in the Baldwin archives regarding this locomotive but I can take a look for you.

Here are a couple of 0-4-2 tank style locos at the Hawaii Railway Society Ewa #1 and Kailua #6, on static display at Ewa Beach, on Oahu. Can’t remember, but I believe these are 36” ga.

Also, the Penn State Railroad Museum, in Strasbourg, Pa, displays the restored Olomanu. They might have basic dimensions or construction drawings available, as the Olomanu is owned by the Smithsonian and has the distinction of being the first locomotive to be imported and operated in Hawaii. The Olomanu might be 24” ga...

These 0-4-2 would make make a nice little grand scale locomotive.

A little locomotive with 4 wheels on the track is a lot more fun
than a 1/2 finished one with 16 wheels on the bench!
