Sandley Locomotive car drawings

Post by Glenn Brooks »

Here’s a bit of a tribute to our own Mike Decker, former 4-4-0 locomotive engineer and chief draftsman of Sandley Light Locomotive Works, circa 1968!

I found these original blueprints amongst the Ben Hammer collection I’ve been sorting out over the last few days.

Three Cheers, Michael!

Yup, Glenn...

Our Carpenter and I built one of the Excursion Cars, but it never got trucks until after the Society took over. We had four of the Goods Wagons, and one flat wagon with the same chassis. BTW...I only ran a 4-4-0 for a few days in 1972, when #82 was up from Milwaukee Zoo for overhaul. The 4-4-2, #128 was my regular engine most of the time. I started making drawings after I had been working winters in Denver as a draftsman, 1966/68. I went full time at Sandley's in 1968.
