Cabin Fever Auctions 2022

Post by jschoenly »

Hello all!

First sorry for my lack of posts. I assure it is only an artifact of being very busy this year!

As of now we are very much planning to have to the show. We have been advertising in all the usual places. Attached is a flyer for this year. We have made some minor tweaks. The show time change is more an adjustment to "what happens at the show" more than trying to make a change. No one will be rushed out Sunday, we'll have air on in the morning, etc. However Friday and Saturday have always been the busy days so we are adjusting to this new schedule.

As for the Covid situation - We will be following all guidelines as required. We will certainly be encouraging masks and distancing to the best of everyone's ability. Again, any requirements will be those place on us.

The auctions have shifted to all Online Only bidding. The plan is to however still have the items on site for inspection and pickup following the sales. Bidding can be done on phones, tablets, laptops, etc and we plan to have some minimal bids accepted for those without devices. Terms and information for this will be coming soon.

We missing seeing everyone at the show and are certainly hoping we are able to enjoy the weekend as we all have missed the comradery this past year.

When will the auction lots be posted online? or do we need to see the lots in person and then bid online?

Some lots are starting to be posted right now (just 64 so far). The items will be there in person for viewing and for pickup.

There will be 3 sessions - 2 Friday and a session of diecast toys on Saturday

The WIFI was never in my control and it was available but there was a cost. I had to pay for it as well. The "Cabin Fever" wifi that may have been seen was a non-internetwork for our clerking.

HOWEVER! - Recently, within the last year, the guest wifi has been opened up for free and is quite fast and reliable in my testing. So yes, there will be WIFI!

Very disappointed in this year's show. Many vendors were no shows, the exhibitors seemed down a bit. Crowds were light, but no snow, ice, rain.

Few people wore masks, which was a bit surprising.

Hoping 2023 is a better year.
