Hello My Friends
Magnificent! 611 has always been one of my favorites, and you have captured her beautifully. Bare metal is cool to look at, but a model isn't finished until it's painted. And you are correct, bad painting and finishing can diminish a good model.

Hello friends,
Be sure the J 611 will look perfect like the Y6b, once it will be painted :!:
Luckily a good friend with proven skills on complicated painting jobs will help to paint the J, too :)
Some photos taken when the Y6b had it's paint just dry will illustrate the very thin and precise coating which is showing all the fine details 8) .
And another photo taken just a year ago shows sustainability of the coating after several years in service.
Have fun!

Hi folks,
i hope you all are healthy !
One good thing during the corona time is the fact...you have time to go in basement shop.
So we did some progress on our #611.
The cap fills up more and more....

Amazing work you have done. Is there any castings in your locomotive?

Hey Peter,

yes, glad that we can meet and work together in our shop. But nevertheless it was so so sad that we both can't met in May this year, because of the Virus. We hope so much that we're able to visit the USA in October, hopefully we can arange a meeting with you and Duncan....finger crossed!!!!

Yesterday we finished the starter valve ,working great:)

Hey Guys,

Hi Guys,

some power reverse news. I mounted the power reverse under the boiler, after some minutes of meassuring the right position was found to fully configure the control in both positions. The connections rod between piston rod and steering is only a test rod...all the nice lever are still missing. The pressure at the video was to high...a later test showed it works great at 1 Bar - 14 psi, so the power reverse moves smooth and slow....im happy ;)
