I always saw the five gallon can of gear dope on the running board. At least that is where it was on the Shay I ran.

Remember that the colors of a can, after sitting out for months, could be very different from what it was originally.

I finally found the photo. It was Esso. Although I don’t know how I got green and white can from a black and white photo. Lol
