I finally got the eccentric rods finished. The print called for cast iron which I did not have on hand so I fabed up steel ones which I had to bush.

Look what came in the mail. I know Anthony had a lot of trouble but the final product is beautiful.

Getting setup for first cut on the cylinder. I'm thinking once both halfs are bolted together I may have to extend depth of table to to get clearance to bore otherwise I may have to machine separate . Next half I will raise it up to get face mill instead of fly cutter to speed up things.

I could have stepped it off with the dials but the plate keeps me from making a mistake. 4 center holes drilled and reamed for dowels.

A very satisfying accomplishment.
Now you can get busy with the machining...

After an arsenal of squares, dividers and rulers and about
re re re repositioning. These rascals are (just guessing) 80 to 100 lbs. The saddle will be close, print called for 11"OD tube I'm using 10"pipe same as front of boiler 10.75" OD. I pulled front frame to fit.

Looking good. Part of the fun is figuring out how to get the job done.
As to the saddle, Gene Allen told me to just make a bed of JB Weld across the saddle and set the pipe into it. While that might work — Gene knew what he was doing — I used a shaper, swinging the shaper head in an arc across the saddle, the toolbit set to the required radius. Slow but it worked fine.
