After measuring and checking level and plumb and taking in acount unevenness of floor and stand which all were close but still need to be considered . A c clamp held the smokebox to the saddle as the first hole was drilled install the bolt and nut and tighten and drill at least 1 more hole in opposite corner and add the bolt as before. Then you can drill the rest of them just to mark them then pull saddle and drill . Drilling inside the smokebox with a right angle attachment is not fun. The front and back holes were on the money. The sides I went a little to conservative when the smokebox was drilled, remember I have stepped up the bolts to 1/4" from 5mm. A carbide burr should make room for the nuts. Jim

Picture orientation has been and continues to be a problem with the software that runs this board. Nobody has been able to solve it completely, but there are some hints described here that have worked for some folks. Maybe something there will help you.

Thanks Russell for the picture correction.
Made some threaded bushings for the brake beams the reason the 1/4" instead 3/8" which the nut would look to big. Finished pre rocking the shoes.

This is the brake shaft pivot block.
The back was sanded flat then stood up on the round both ends to see which was square with the ears.
Place in the vice with the sanded back to the fixed jaw and clean the end and flip.
There is a .125" recess to fit over the main frame so supports are placed under the ears and tighten on parallel finishes. If you do not have a kurt vise which I do not don't forget to seat the part with a hammer. Jim

Thanks for sharing your Build progress as it gives us ideals to use on our own build. Great job. Now I need a Horizontal Mill lol.
