This afternoon got just 4 brake links completed. Mark off drill then grab with locking pliers and sand to shape. Jim

The second jacket was much faster. I decided that the bottom screw would not be accessible with a screwdriver. So a stud and nut which will allow you to hook it on worst case scenario no nut but I believe the nut will not be a problem.

The prints have no dimensions for the brake beams. So while pondering on that I discovered the brake hanger spacers were allowing the shoes to be to close to the flanges. Jim

Turned up pins for the brake hangers and shoes then moved to the smoke box now because it will be the pattern for the saddle . But while on the table opens up more rabbit holes to follow.

Thank you Mountaineer for the kind words and concern .
Let's get going again!
This is the smoke stack base. The bosses to tie to the smokebox per the print say drill square with boss.

I had drilled a 1/4" hole dead center of blast stack when on the rotary table. I set up smokebox square with the table and plumb by a close fitting rod then center base with a level. The compound angles turned out to be 10 degrees both directions. Jim

Moving the head and realigning on this Bridgeport knockoff is a pain. You have to sweep an indicator to get back square. But my Brown & Sharpe being an instrument maker and quality Amercan machine to align just get a magnifier and set to line and you are there. Notice the pointer is individual to machine. Jim
