Thanks again Dan,

I just looked at the website again. I see they offer all the fittings I need for trimming out the boxcars.

As the cars will be "That Looks About Right" (TLAR) scale I will not be going too crazy on what is underneath the cars but would like to have nice looking things on the top.

All the wheels are machined and Painted. The journal boxes are fitted with lids and in the paint shop.

I ordered the steel for the Arch bars from Access Metals. This is all cut to length and I have started the bending and drilling for the ten trucks.

Another tedious task

Today was a practice retirement day. In and out of the shop for half of it.

As I am making the trucks for five cars there are 60 bars that have to be bent and drilled. For this I made two jigs to bend them to that also serves as a drill guide. One is for the top twenty bars and the deep one for the middle bent bars. I use the middle jig to drill the 20 straight bars for the bottom.

In the mean time I am painting the 40 journal boxes and lids.

Next machine task is the 40 brake hanger/columns
