Chips? Wazza chip?
Too many things going on to bother listing them.
Re: Show us your milling machine!
That was before I really started into the projects list. Now there's some chip glitter.
Re: Show us your milling machine!
Well the last mill I posted in this thread must have been like 8 or 9 years ago. My Lagun FTV-1. It was a great mill but over the years I found some issues with the work I do. It had more power than the R8 spindle could take. Too much tool pull out. The table was a bit small also. I had bought a Cincinnati No.4 horizontal for bigger jobs but after 5 years and about 5 jobs it was taking up way too much space. But I had so much tooling I didn't want to just get rid of it all.
So I searched for a 40 taper vertical and 50 taper horizontal in one machine. The Sharp VH3 were what I could find. They were all beat to death. New they are like $50k so no go for a second op machine. Then after 2 years of looking found this. Purchased new in 1965 by the local university so I am the second owner. They used it for in house projects so no production, also was only for the shop machinist no students. Took some cleaning up but it looks nearly unused.
It's a Cincinnati Cinel 60 horizontal that the factory made a special overarm to fit a Toolmaster 1D vertical head on. Has the backlash eliminator and power feeds on everything. Also had a factory original dividing head and a tool chest filled with tooling. Original manuals and maintenance records. It has a few quirks that drive me crazy I need to fix but it's a fantastic machine to run.
The horizontal spindle allows some nice tricks. Like using a 8" facemill. Or drilling large holes.

They are out there if you look long enough. Good score!

I did not know Logan made a milling machine. Looks like a decent machine, better than the usual round column machine anyway.

The Cincinnati looks like a great machine.
