Sherline Mills

Post by Salome »

Hi guys, great forum you have here. Lots of useful information.
My husbands birthday is coming up soon (end of the month) and he's been hinting at a nice hobby mill.

I found a really nice mill made by Sherline, over at the site http://www.digital-calipers.com/mills.html

(It was bookmarked in his favorites section hahaha!)

My question is... have any of you guys ever used a sherline product? If so, what do you think of them? Any suggestions on something different? Im pretty new to this sort of stuff, so Im looking for some useful advice.

Thanks a bunch,

Salome

Do you know what he wants to make with it? The Sherlines are good quality machines, but are limited by their size and power. As long as he only intends to make small parts, it may be OK.

You might want to take a look at Tim's web page :

I don't have any hands-on experience with Sherline but Tim has been a great help to me on other projects. I highly recommend him for customer service / satisfaction.

Salome, you also might want to check the following Yahoo group, dedicated just to Sherlines: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sherline/

Only about 13,000 posts that you need to wade through to get an idea about Sherlines
