I am considering purchasing a milling machine with a tree milling head, from what I gather it is a Tree MH-4. I am wondering what kind of collet the machine takes, as the guy says its different then what he's seen before. It may be seen http://www.lathes.co.uk/bridgeport/page13.html
Thanks

Re: Tree Milling Head
I have an old Tree universal milling head on a Bridgeport. Tree collets have a double taper. A threaded collar on the front of the spindle locks the collet in the spindle taper. There are at least three different sized collets for Tree mills.
Tree machine in Racine Wi sells new collets, they're pricey. I make my own on the lathe and slit them with a hacksaw
