Atlas 3996 Quick Change Tolerances

Post by ryanDeVries »

Hello,

I am rebuilding the quick change gearbox for my Atlas lathe. I am trying to what the tolerances should be for the bushings for the gears on the 1/2" shaft. The two compound gears and the single gear. They seam quite loose in mine, I don't know if I should replace the bushings or not. Does anyone know of tolerances for the parts in the quick change gearbox?

Don't think there is a published spec for that but as new I would expect about .001-.0015 .
