Roach & Von Wyck Lathe
Roach & Von Wyck Lathe
So I ended up with this Von Wyck Lathe this weekend at an auction, mostly wanted it for the Cullman Drive that is on it, looking for one to put on my 1890's Brown & Sharpe Milling Machine or a Reed Prentice Lathe that I have purchased some time a go. The Lathe came with a 3 and 4 jaw chuck, faceplate and a bunch of tool holder and other stuff. Looks like it is missing its change gears and the gear on the back head has a bunch of teeth missing, but still looks like a decent Lathe. Very interesting piece of history. I can not find much information on them.

That is certainly an elegant top gear and drive... nice find...
