I can't remember when I bought the face mill. I can't remember where I bought it. So it must have been long sgo when I knew even less than I do now. Therefore, it must be Chinese.
Bill, I'm thinking QC on that arbor must have been in the negative range.
My drawbar is 7/16-20. I've got 4 feet of hard all-thread coming tomorrow from McMaster Carr.

All--
The hardened 7/16-20 all-thread arrived a couple of days ago. I cut it to the size I wanted, slapped a couple of nuts on it and jammed them together and it worked just fine.
