I posted a question about fixing the wear on the vise I am restoring.

but there have been no responses because a lot of people that could answer that probably have not seen it.
Possible solutions could include welding or silver soldering a piece in, so it's more a question about that.
If you have a suggestion, please go over to that thread and post responses there, so that everything is in one place and not scattered across multiple threads (I'm going to post this in the welding forum as well, as those people will know about the welding approaches, but may not see the post here).
