Surface grinder hub ID

Post by SteveM »

Does anyone recognize these hubs? They are believed to have come from a surface grinder.

The arbor threads are 3/8-24. The shaft where the wheel mounts is 3/4" diameter.

Every surface grinder wheel adapter I ever saw was for 1-1/4 or larger id wheels.
Might this be for a tool and cutter grinder? Although all the ones I have seen did not use an adapter.
I'd be interested in what you eventually find out.

The aluminum adapter on it brings it to 1-1/4".

It had a 4" diameter diamond wheels on it, so that is a possibility.

Yike I must have forgotten my meds. I meant Tool Post Grinder as Mr. Evans suggested. I can't even blame autocorrect.....
