Starting a new club track

Post by rangerjoel »

The Redwood Empire Live Steamers will begin work on a new club track located at Youth Community Park in Santa Rosa, California this weekend. Have a look at our web site for more updates.

parks & club tracks?

Post by Loco112 »

Tell us about the park; Acres, Elevation, Topo features, etc..

Did the city enthusiastically offer you their help after you pitched the idea to them?

What would you rate its ultimate potential for a great club layout in Youth Community Park in Santa Rosa?

Hi all,
The park is about 73 acres in size and we plan on installing 1700 feet of track. Our track plan was not in the park’s original master plan but they decided to re-do their pan around our track. The terrain is relatively flat with a stream running thru the property and a combination of developed turf (boring) and oak woodland (more interesting). So far, the city has given us a substantial grant to begin work. Check out our web page for more info.

We're up to the year 2022 and I dropped by this track a week ago. There's a large 7-1/2" gauge loop around a grass field with an option to duck back into the forest. Apparently they run a public train the first weekend of the month from May thru October. It's located at 1705 Fulton Road, Santa Rosa, CA. Their Facebook page is at:

I don't have a Facebook account either but I can still scroll down the page using the standard "elevator shaft" allowing me to view content. I can also select "Photos" from the left column and then scroll through them. There really are quite a few nice photographs to view!
