WTB RRSCo. 0-4-0 Drivers

Post by 318J »

Hi all,

I'm trying to find anyone with some spare Railroad Supply Co. 0-4-0 drivers. I need four of the heavy ones with the larger counterweight.

Yes, I know RRSCo. is in business. I've been in contact with them for over two months, and haven't even gotten a price or availability out of them, and lately cannot get a response at all. Such a shame as I'll be passing through the new England area soon, and was hoping I might be able to get them from RRSCo. and save on shipping. I'll keep trying but if I can't get them from the source itself, I'll have to try getting them elsewhere. Thanks!

Didn't someone carry on the Mercer 0-4-0 castings from Dave? I wonder if those would be the same diameter. I think the LE 0-4-0 are 7 inches, but on a 0-4-0 this shouldn't make a difference. Roger goldmann also sells 7 inch 0-6-0 drivers

I'd really prefer the RRSCo. drivers, they're the exact diameter and profile I need, number of spokes, ect. They match up almost perfectly with the prototype I'm modeling.

What do they look like?
What were they originally for?
Are you wanting to get rid of them?

Yes, a very last minute call back from them and the details were worked out. I was able to pick them up and get a short tour of the shop the morning I had to leave New Hampshire.

Help please?

After having paid in full and too long of a wait (over 20 years!) for a fully machined set of Roger Goldmann's USRA Heavy Pacific cylinders, Roger's pattern maker (acting on my behalf) managed to obtain a rough cylinder casting and some but not all of the necessary parts for completion,

---BUT NO DRAWINGS!

Is there anyone on here who has the dimensions for Roger's Pacific cylinders. please?

THANK YOU!

If anyone else is looking for out-of-production or never-been-produced driver patterns, I've got a lot of experience creating them. If you can think of it, I've probably done it.

Drop me a line!

A little locomotive with 4 wheels on the track is a lot more fun
than a 1/2 finished one with 16 wheels on the bench!

curious what the typical price is of like a 7 inch drive wheel chris? This is for a 3d print, or the actual wood pattern for sand casting?
