WTB 7 1/2 gauge pedal/hand car
We have a young man in our family who loves trains, but he is severely autistic and, well lets just say he’s energetic. I am looking for a hand car or pedal car to buy for him so that he can ride around on my little railroad when he comes to visit. I would appreciate your help locating one. I do not have a lot of money to spare right now but I think that I can pay a fair price should a deal be struck.
Thank you

Are you in a position to build such a car?
There are plans available...

Too many things going on to bother listing them.

Yeah I could build one. Where would I find the plans?

Live steam magazine ran an article on one a while back.

Ah, I haven’t had a live steam magazine subscription for years. I’ll look it up, thanks.

There are hand crank and up down pump types.
The hand crank ..like a bicycle pedal set seem easier to deal with on the smaller scales.

Looking at the LSORR online index and my back issues Sep/Oct '99. Article is 5 pages.Bill Shields wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 1:39 pm Live steam magazine ran an article on one a while back.
It's a four wheel sit-on model with handle that is push/pull motion. BOM is included.

BOM?
Help, please. What is BOM? (Bill of Materials, possibly?)

Thanks John!
We have a couple of these in our club. I'm told they are based on the article but not built exactly to plan.

PS: I realize the original poster was looking to purchase. This thread went a slightly different direction but maybe others will find the information useful?
