Dave,

I may be interested in a set. Can the drain elbow be rotated 90° and secured so the lettering faces outward? That’s how I’ve seen them installed on full sized locomotives.

Yes, they can be so positioned. I installed mine for simplicity of the plumbing.
I brought all four steam lines to a header accessible under the smokebox. They can all be drained with one valve from there.
'Figured no one would want to lie on the ballast to look at them...
