They are a standard item that you can purchase from a variety of tool suppliers.
5 Morse taper on the outside. 5C collet inside.

Its been almost 50 years since I had a 10 inch South Bend lathe. I can't remember exactly, but the spindle took a 3C collet with out the use of an adapter. Which also allowed for a solid center to go into the spindle to turn between centers. So if memory serves me the adapter in the link is the way to go. But you will need a back plate to mount the collet chuck to your spindle.

Ah...good point. My SB10 is a heavy 10

Know that the SB 9 machines are all 3C
