Did you build a 2" Blowpipe to do that, or us something more subtle?

I can do that too, but I've found that shoveling everything off the bench and into yet another box to be shoved out of sight under the bench is not productive in the long run.

So I built another bench.

As much as hate the fact, my mess keep climbing up to the point I spend more time looking for things or wiggling a space to do the next operation that actually doing useful work. Then I clean up. The process soon restart.

You can do what I do: I do most of my machining work at my friend's house. Now, HIS workbench has two people's junk on it but mine at home is pretty clean. If you need more space, get more friends.

Oh oh. My work shop gets cleaned every day before I head back into the house, including sweeping the floors!
Something is wrong with me,
...but that's not news to those who know me.

Thanks to Liveaboard, both my Wife and I found ourselves laughing out loud when we saw your post!
We needed that.

Liveaboard, the only people who aren't making a mess, is those that aren't doing anything. Keep making messes!
I clean up between projects.

I have actually been keeping it semi-clear more of the time.
I made 12 large drawers below, and I made another storage area for stock and material.
When I enter the workshop and the bench, lathe, and drill press are all clear and ready to have fun, it causes a happy little rush of endorphins.

It took a lot of time and considerable money to create this much storage, and some things don't fit, but it was worth it.
I also made another 1/2 size rolling toolbox/ bench with shallow drawers for automotive work.

I should have made these things 10 years ago.

I admit to cleaning my work areas and sweeping the floors nearly every day I use my shop.
Cleaning is the final task before heading out the door.
It takes a surprisingly small amount of time, and really speeds up my ability to get tasks completed.

When I ran the Student Shops at the Univ. of Washington (Seattle, USA) I requested the same actions from my students.
It was life-saver in those circumstances. And I've had former students thank me for getting them into those habits.
It has enhanced their Engineering professions.

Just my way of doing things.
