Re: Help me Change a Kubota Quick Coupler
Thanks. Very helpful. I might go for a couple of those.
I managed to get a 7/8" wrench on the coupler today, and I tightened it considerably more. It will be nice to be able to clean the oil off the floor and not have it return the next day.

A note on that tightening thing......if you still have a leak....
It may work....but usually not. Pipe dope will set up after a short period of time. If you dope something up, and reassemble, and it still leaks....chances are, you missed a spot, or a bit of oil was still there, and you have some metal to metal. An additional torque....won't make that go away.
So.....pretty much maybe....but maybe not.

That is good info to have.
I used a Vise Grip to tighten it initially, and I guess the torque I was able to apply was not that high, because it turned easily with the open-end wrench. I feel like I need to see how it works when it's tight before I make a judgment. I put a piece of clean scrap cardboard under it today before I left the garage.
