AlloyAvenue

Post by RONALD »

The site AlloyAvenue, which has been around almost as long as this site, but with different names, now appears to be out of business.

One gets: "Server currently undergoing maintenance", but that has been going on for many weeks.

They had lots of good casting information, and sometimes outright dangerous procedures in making castings, but worth looking at as I made my morning rounds of sites.

Did someone not pay the rent?

Or is this, again, another example of the ephemeral nature of all the internet!

The site "The Home Foundry" asked the same thing I did above, and no one seems to know what is going on.

It certainly is a strange way we interact with Web.

Home Foundry is a recent edition to metal casting sites, and does not date back as far as the site called AlloyAvenue did.

The internet wayback machine's last snapshot that doesn't lead to a dead end page is December of last year:

It appears to be reachable again, but no posts have been made for a while...
