Harbor Freight 90A welder nozzle retainer

Post by SteveM »

On my Harbor Freight (Chicago Electric) 90A welder, the nozzle is held to the torch tip with a spring that wraps around the in a groove in the torch nozzle.

When I got mine (garage sale find), that part was missing.

I tried winding one myself, but the wire I used was the wrong diameter.

I could do this trial and error, but if someone out there has one of the smaller HF welders, could you measure that wire diameter and let me know?

The spring is not listed as a separate part in the parts list, only as part of the torch assembly.

Why not run over to the factory in Chicago and buy the part?

I think they sell on fleaBay, or Amazon.....you might check that out too. May save a buck on freight.
