Oodles of years ago the American Rifleman featured an article on building a matchlock musket. For a barrel the author used Shelby tubing of approximately .50 caliber.

Does anyone know of an online source for ordering such tubing?

Thanks!

Don't know about Shelby tubing but Aircraft Spruce has 4130 seamless in varying sizes and you can order through the internet.

I, too, would like to learn of a source for Shelby tubing. Used to be a shop in Mt. Vernon, NY that sold some, but it was a small operation and folded when the owner retired.

DOM tubing was available on Ebay a few years ago but lately there has not been much with real heavy walls.
Try an Ebay search in business for dom tubing.

I always purchased shelby tubing from Pacific Machinery and Tool Steel in Portland, Oregon. They have a website, but you will need to call them to place an order.

I believe the name Shelby for tubing is from the name of a manufacturing company in Shelby Ohio. You can substitute any DOM or seamless tubing.
