Stevens Pistol sight

Post by Don_in_Ohio »

I'm looking for a rear sight to go on one of the old Stevens single shot pistols. The sight is similar to the ones found on rifles, a length of spring steel with a dovetail on one end and the other turned up and notched to form the sight blade. The biggest problem is that the dovetail is very small, much more so than a standard 3/8 inch slot. No luck on the Gun Parts Corp website, and so far none else where on the web. Anyone have an idea here?

replacement sight and filing down the dovetail for a proper fit? Are you trying to maintain 100% original parts or just get it shootable again?

I think I have one that went through a fire. Dovetail size about 5/16.

John, What would you want for it? Being in a fire probably won't hurt much, the gun itself is not what anyone would call pristine in the first place.

Don. I havn't found it yet, I moved a few month back and I know it's in a box someplace. If I can find it you can have it. I have the whole gun but was planning on doing something with the rest of it.

Don, that Item number came out of an old catalogue. It may be no good now, but sometimes a phone call to them can uncover things that are not listed in either their catalogue or on line.
