I have stepped in as Moderator to relieve Marty of some additional work. Otherwise, you should expect no changes in the forum.

George,nice to have you aboard.Now that I got the group warmed up on my FR8 question,I will have to post a new message on my French Mas.That should keep you busy for a while.When I bought that rifle,I asked the guy at the shop what's that post hanging off the end of the rifle.He said it was for storage.I told him I thought it was for hanging the white flag.He gave me a funny look,and said nothing.I think he was French.

time of the Norman conquests but have always considered "the Old Country" to be the USA so a little comic relief is OK as long as it doesn't excessively offend someone else. 'Tis no offense to me. :-)

Scott, I have some recent French ancestry, and am not at all offended.
In the interests of equal time, etc., I suppose it would be reasonable
to mention that large shipment of Italian military rifles some years ago
that was advertised as having never been fired, only dropped a time or
two. An occasional sense of humor check is a good thing for all of us
