The US renewed a law that bans guns made without metal. There must be a detectable amount for doorways, and seep wands to pick up.

Isn't a Glock mostly plastic with a pair of plates in the slide molding?

Glock has a polymer body, other than that: steel barrel, slides, misc. pins and springs, striker, bullets, casing, steel magazine, etc. Lots of metal in a brick... Errr... I mean Glock.

I also have a low opinion of a Glock. Way overpriced for the quality presented IMHO. I have a Ruger p-89 and Sigma .380 that are above a Glock for my abilities and comfort. Just my opinion.

I have an older Garret security sweep detector, that I keep around for finding nails in tree logs to be sawed. It will miss deep, or badly rusted nails, but anything big enough to hurt the blade shows up pretty well with a careful sweep. Like fence wire grown in.

Glocks overpriced? They're under $500. I don't think that's so bad.

I love the 1911, but I carry a fat ugly Glock because they work so well. They have a problem with recoil springs breaking, but you can get a better spring and install it yourself.

I find that a compact Glock 10mm is the perfect pistol for church. I don't need a shoulder holster, and it still has good capacity and stopping power.

$500 Glock?! Not here! I've never liked the feel of the Glocks bulky and square, if I am going to purchase a pistol I like something that fits well.

Here is a local gun range and shop that is fairly typical of prices here: http://theshootingedge.com/store/index. ... 20a&page=2

Not unusual for churches to have security teams.

RE sky-high Canadian gun prices, not something I have to worry about here in Florida.

I don't mind paying $500 for a Glock, but the accessories are too expensive. A hundred bucks for night sights, plus 300 for a laser...makes you forget what you paid for the pistol.

Harold, sometimes people who don't want to tithe need a little persuasion.

Chuckle!

Now you see why I don't attend church!

Showed this to Susan (my wife). She said she's not going to your church!

Smart girl!
