Re: Opening PVC Pipe Joints Without Total Destruction?
I just chop away the PVC and put in whatever new PVC it takes to put it back together. The stuff is cheap. Sometimes I've used screw together unions to facilitate maintenance, but the union costs more than the rest of the piping. I have taken apart pvc by heating; it takes a LONG time for the heat t...

Re: How to Get Threaded Shaft Out of Pump Impeller?
Which pretty much mirrors my thought process on the matter; spend a little money and time, it won't work. Spend a lot of money and time, it might work but the job isn't worth that much money and time. I used some little float switches that are entirely sealed plastic, the float is a magnet and pulle...

Re: Another Bandsaw Question
It did good work for me a few years ago resawing wide hardwood planks for a lot of cabinet work, but I haven't used it since.
It's heavy.

Re: How to Get Threaded Shaft Out of Pump Impeller?
Of course I thought of a pressure switch; however, it has happened that after pulling some air it's sat there running while maintaining some pressure. Electronic level meters are a problem because grunge buildup across the base of the contacts will carry enough current to fool the circuit. That's wh...

Re: Another Bandsaw Question
Rich; do you cut steel with it as well?
I also have a big bandsaw, I rarely use it but if I can cut metal with it I might find a way to make that work.

Re: Thank You
I'm dyslexic, can't spell.
Before personal computers came, this was very difficult sometimes. Now it's barely any trouble at all.
My wife refuses to receive or send text; says the only menu she wants to see is in a restaurant [not that we go to restaurants]. I got her a super-retro phone.

Re: Never enough time
Ouch; you got to get your machines working so you can get your work done...
I know what you mean about grass; when I lived on a boat in Holland, the saying was 'rust never sleeps'.
Now I figured out that it's the same with grass. Especially in spring!

Re: Thank You
Me too; I don't understand how anyone can have one of those expensive little electronic slabs without breaking it every day. Flip phone, so cheap here's no need to worry. In Europe we have 'sim' cards in the phones; you just pop it out of the old [smashed] phone and put it in the new one to transfer...

Re: Never enough time
I didn't really want a tractor that big; far to much for my 10 acres when I don't even farm it. But I'm happy about it, because it has the power and weight to dig into my soft ground, so I can use it for earth-moving [it's not made for that!] Also for pulling out tree-stumps and things. I've also tr...

Re: How to Get Threaded Shaft Out of Pump Impeller?
We're supposed to be supplied with pressurized water in the near future; when that happens I won't need a pump anymore. They've put in a massive irrigation water system at a cost of $8 million; it's all done but the electric company still hasn't switched on the power for the pump station. In the mea...

Re: Never enough time
The tractor is like me; old and past prime, still able to work at full power but prone to breakage if that's done for long. The 2-speed pto means the engine can run at 1/2 speed for mowing. I sometimes tax it pretty hard when digging with the front end loader. Digging.jpg The linkages and draw bar r...

Re: Never enough time
I also have a + size mower.
Originally it rode on skids for field use; I added the wheels and repaired it a lot; it cuts grass quite well.
And very fast.
I use it mounted on this old 85hp Italian SAME tractor.
