Well, I guess I got lucky as I've been doing much the same as Jim, though I've not had the chance to experiment like he did. I mainly just read a lot of folks opinions and tried to distil the consistencies across them. Tapmatic Gold: Turning/cutting steel. Tapmagic Protap: Tapping Enco #1: Glycerin ...

Yes, it presses off the ball bearing chucks the same way, more info is on the Jacobs site. But that won't help much with getting it off the arbor. First attempt, like Marty said, use the wedges. Usually that works, but sometimes they don't. Second, try the hydraulic method. They don't come with hole...

I use an R8 stub arbor for most of mine, I have 1" and 1.25" versions. Only problem is being too bulky sometimes, which is when a slitting arbor comes in, as long as it is a fairly thin blade.

I had some of the same questions initially, but it just does not work out that way most of the time. About the only way I think this would be likely to work out at all would be to have something like a MT3 spindle in the lathe and mill. Not common, but they do exist. Most other collet/taper implemen...

Yeah, you can also get the big freight boxes, they just won't be able to unload at your site. Didn't realize the small ones were that limited in weight.

Contact freight companies that have drop containers. ABF is one. They will drop off steel containers, like shipping containers, at your location and leave them for a specified time. They then pick them up, locked secured and bonded, to be placed in rack storage (AC or otherwise as you wish and pay f...

Are you looking for some sort of vertical cutting saw? If so, you would need a 90* attachment for that, and I doubt they make one for your mill if I recall correctly. Other than that, a stub arbor like I posted last time will work for this type of cutter. Or you may be asking about something called ...
