Looks great! Are you planning on finishing the tender before you proceed to the steam locomotive? I am anxious to see more progress!

This might be a dumb question but I am assuming you are not going to run it on coal. Are you planning propane or Kerosene or actual diesel fuel? Looking at how big it is already, I would hate to think how much steam must be raised to get it moving. Are you going to fuel it like the real ones? UP 39...

Someone needs to take the RS3, ask Mike for an extra short-hood casting, then make a hammerhead RS3 just like the Lehigh Valley 211 (in reality, a EMD hybrid.... the 211 is on display at the Rochester and Genessee Valley Railroad Museum ( www.rgvrrm.org ), and still operating!)

Mmmm.... RS3... 8)

Does it take much effort to create a new forum entitled: "Electric/Diesel/Hydraulic Railroading"? I am baffled by this latest squabble... Seems that we used to be able to get along, discussing TRAINS (as it seems that no one ever brought up other forms of steam)... Now there are countless ...

This is a good reason to keep MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) on ALL of the chemicals, powders, metals and gasses that you use in your shop on hand and readily available to anyone who might walk into your shop and find you passed out on the floor. Let your family and friends know what to do if t...

Let me know if turbulators work - I think they're pointless. Speaking from experience.

Broken drill bits

I just broke two drill bits (differnet locations) as I was removing them (machine still operating) from the workpiece. One hole was a through hole, and I could not punch it out from the other end - the other hole was not a through hole, and I am unsure as to how I can get this piece out. I was think...

Kind of amazing. I half expected to see only three of your fingers engulfing the siderods, but apparently they are longer than the width of your hand! (or something like that).

In any case, excellent work!

I didn't know steam locomotives could be operated in a Vacuum... After all, we do need air to allow our fires to combust... 8)

I like the idea of extending the stack by a couple feet... wouldn't hurt to try it out as an experiment!
