Re: Looking For Drawings of Steam Flex Joint

May be able to get a ball valve from Home Depot and disassemble it for inspiration. After all, the ball does rotate, similar to what you're probably wanting to accomplish.

Re: MPT to NPT Adapter

You can bush up to the size you need... But you'll need a pipe nipple to connect to your cylinder cocks.

At that point, probably easier to just get the tooling and make a custom adapter.

....or ask some locals if they have the tooling you need.

Re: Electric water pump install questions

I wonder if this is a good idea. If the capacity of the water pump is large in relation to the boiler capacity I fear that it will cause thermal stress in the boiler through rapid cooling of one section of the boiler compared to another. just a thought ... If you inject water appropriately, keeping...

Re: Transport 48 wheels from Pennsylvania to Florida

One is still being tracked and has made criss crosses back and forth past my location 4 times now and its been sitting in St.Louis now for almost 4 days. Re: Little Engines Closed

Just be aware that LEGALLY, LE still owns the rights to the drawings, even if they are not doing anything with them. Distributing copies, should they choose to do something about it, could be troublesome....even if youbdobis at for $0. FWIW: I have been scanning everything in sight for my personal ...

Someone in WNY already built one in 1.5" scale.... I do not know if it is 100% operational yet, though.

Re: Allen Chloe Hydro Test Leak

It is for this reason I always cap the throttle, where possible, to verify that the boiler is tight. Anything that fails after that - you know it's not the boiler.

Re: Little Engines Closed

A sad situation. It seems to me that this is the result of progressively fewer people having the desire or skills to build a locomotive from the ground up, together with the current (plentiful) availability of existing locos. As loco builders/owners pass on, their equipment is being sold. Why would...

Re: LE 1 inch scale 060 Rebuild

Pull the wrist pin from the crosshead and drop the main rod. You will be able to determine if your rotation issue stems from your drivers or your cylinders. If your engine has not been run in a lengthy amount of time, it is possible the pistons are seized up in the cylinder, or there is a sticking p...

Re: 7/8" Scale Sandy River Freight Truck

Jack, when you get the rolling stock built, I'd be interested in seeing a side by side comparison with the 1" and 3/4" gauges, including track mockup. 7/8" Scale is interesting enough, but wow... 45mm gauge? Nuts!
