Re: Patio's projects

Denture slide hammer V 2.0.
I made the overall length a little shorter and the middle slide stop, now screws on to the bottom half, capturing the slide when disassemble for travel. The first one just had a washer.

Re: Patio's projects

I have a new upper set of teeth that are held in with Four, 5* tapered pins. It fits real tight and is difficult to remove. So I made a slide hammer, out of stainless steel and brass, to remove the plate, with ease.

Re: Steam railroading to return to Alaska!

I was raised in Fairbanks, and hope to be coming in 2022 for a long visit, depending on the state of travel through Canada, at the time. I have been following your post with keen interest. :)

Re: Patio's projects

Another simple project, that took me two tries to get right. I had acquired and Rivet nut tool with a large lot of 5/16X18" Rivet nuts. The tool did not come with a mandrel for the 5/16" rivet nuts, so I made one. I had almost completed the first one when I crashed the tool into the collet...

Re: Patio's projects

The other day I had a job replacing a explosion proof light fixture. The light fixture was outdated and there is a new model to replace it. The new model of fixture would not mount on the old style box, so it had to be changed. Simple enough and a previous person had added a union in the rigid pipe,...

Re: Panhead rebuild project...

Still kicking and working on this project. In fact it is the main focus of my endeavors at the moment. With all that has happened and the discovery of an excessive amount of RTV used on the base gasket, allowing it to migrate down around the cylinder skirts, I am afraid that some of the material cou...

Re: Duplomatic T50 tracer attachment, refurbishment

I am still alive, but this project is on hold. As an update. I have two tracer attachments. One is a TA80 and the other is a T50. The TA80 is the largest of the two and the one I bought first. It seemed to big for the Caz, so a search for the smaller unit, a T50 like the one Harold has. It is about ...

Re: Duplomatic T50 tracer attachment, refurbishment

Thanks Russ! Most tracers have an overarm that holds the stylus, that follows the pattern. At the top of the stylus there are two micrometer dials, at 90* to each other, that control alignment and in feed. The overarm connects to the top of the tracer and makes it quite tall. That is the reason I am...

Re: Duplomatic T50 tracer attachment, refurbishment

Here it is, all put together! 20210105_205930.jpg Now I need to make space on the back splash shelf. It needs to be raised a couple of inches. It is a bit of work to do that too. This picture show how much. I also will need to remove the bracket that held a large shield that would cover the chuck an...

Just for fun, here is a couple of pictures of Harold's furnaces. Harold can speak about them if he wants, I am just providing pictures. :)

Re: Duplomatic T50 tracer attachment, refurbishment

Got the nuts made. It only took two tries. On the first go round, I had drawn the nuts up in F360, but when I made a test nut up in wood, the angle did not seem right, so I changed it. That was a bad idea, as the drawing was correct. Round two was much easier and faster to do. I also changed ...

Re: Duplomatic T50 tracer attachment, refurbishment

Progress report! The base plate is completed! It is almost too pretty to put on the machine. It is silky smooth to the touch. The rotary stop on the tracer uses the two parts mounted to the plate. The one on the left, is the forward stop with an adjusting bolt. The part on the right, is a ramp for a...
