Re: 2-6-6-6 Allegheny Boiler Questions

Andy Clerici built one many years ago. If I remember correctly, he fired it with propane. There was a write up in Live Steam in the mid 80s. I spoke with him shortly after the article came out. Nice guy. I think that the locomotive is in C&O country now. Not sure. Trueson Beugel had drawings. Th...

Re: Gauging interest... Copper Tube

I may still have some 5" diameter with a 5/32" wall copper. Have to look. Might also have some 6" diameter.

Re: Visiting midsouth live steamer

Chris, had a good time visiting with you too. It would be great to see your J and Y in person someday. Travel safe. Tim I visited with Chris, Claus and Wulf-Dieter (Asteamhead) in 2019. Luckily, there was a meet at Huserland that weekend. W-D met me at the Duisburg Bahnhof and took me to the track....

Re: Elesco pump drawings

I found the Elesco instruction book. That part that looks like a strainer is not a strainer. It’s a heater washout connection. There is a hose fitting that screws into it that doesn’t connect to the downstream side. The heater was probably washed out when the boiler was washed. I can’t get the photo...

Re: Elesco pump drawings

The Y shaped "strainer" is also a fitting that is used to wash the tube bundle out. Probably when the locomotive is down for a boiler wash. I think that I have a drawing somewhere that shows the hose fitting that screws into it.

I've made a bunch of parts for those locomotives. If you have any questions, just ask.

Re: Cabin Fever 2023 - Opinions?

I've been going to CF for at least the last 20 years. John Hudak and I have gotten tables to display our models over the years. This year we didn't. Neither one of us had anything new to display. We're talking about next year, though. The hall with the boat pond and all of the hit and miss stuff got...

Re: Fitchburg Chloe: The Best of Both Worlds

But building engines isn't rocket science... Being in Utah, I assume he's working for Thiokol... Which would be Solid Rocket Boosters... And those are rocket motors, not rocket engines ;) Meanwhile here's a little rocket motor eye candy... A nozzle for a 6" diameter rocket motor machined by yo...

Nico is a sharp guy. He does programming in MasterCAM.
If he was really smart, he would use GibbsCAM
If he was a billionaire maybe.
