Re: Bearing race nomenclature

My .02 worth. If your round piece of tooling is held in the holder, angled creating a clearance under both the cutting face and the end face, as you mentioned. Then one would only need to put a flat grind on the top of the tool that has a little bit of back rake from center line of the material, Thi...

Re: Hidden Tool Holding Costs

I heard it said, to buy the cheap tool if you need it. If you use it more than three times in a year, buy the good one.

Re: Parts needed for a brown machine co lathe

If push comes to shove, you could braze the entire area in and use a hack saw and a file to recreate the tooth forms. Just a thought.

Re: Duplomatic T50 tracer attachment, refurbishment

And the band played on! :) I just bought a third tracer attachment and it may or may not work better than the other two. This one is a True Trace Mark O-A series "Pivot type, tracer. It did not come with a template holder, which is the case with most tracers bought on the net. I do know t...

Re: Patio's projects

It is hot here today. Last check the outside thermometer said 106, in the sun. Unusual for us to get this hot. The shop has concrete floors, so it stays cooler than outside. So I spent some time in the shop today, making a travel size slide hammer for my denture. Here is the picture. 20210627_183422...

Re: tap drill/bore for 2-1/4"-8 tpi thread

Is the ME thread pal, a downloadable program or cloud ware? Do I need to be connected to the internet to use it, or can I load it on a shop computer?

Re: Patio's projects

Mark, my prosthetic is not a single tooth, but is an entire upper plate. Being that it is held on by tapered pins, it is not necessary for the plate to cover the entire top of my mouth. 20210606_195717.jpg I was told, anymore than four tapered pins and sockets, it would be to difficult to remove for...

Re: Patio's projects

Mark, I had implants installed in my upper jaw. Tapered pins are screwed into the sockets of the implants. The prosthetic has tapered sleeves installed in it. There are only four of them, as any more than that would make pulling the denture difficult. It works just like a Morse Tapered tooling. The ...

Hello Everyone. School is going good. Gotta burn to learn! :) The teacher had told me about students making stainless steel tube with coins brazed onto the end to hold their Tungsten electrodes. So I made something like that! :) 20210604_193419.jpg The Cazeneuve lathe has the ability to thread to a ...

Wow Mark, that is a heck of a machine! I am a little late to the show, but I sure hope it works out for you. Good on you for going through all the motions and getting things sorted out.

Russ to be put in the same sentence with Boderman is something else. J Boderman does some incredible work, this is not that, but thanks anyway. :) Latest problem. The last person to do my head work did not leave enough clearance between the valve stem seal the the top valve spring plate. Tore the se...
