Re: Where can I find plans for a speeder?

It's a shame this web page didn't get completely archived with all the drawings and photos. There is some drawings of the basic frame and sides in the PDF format that I could see and that was it. Dad built one from it...used a scooter motor and controller. From the wayback machine: https://web.archi...

Re: Advanced throw for turnouts

This is what my friend Hugh has on his layout. couple lengths of all thread. Cuts a small piece of rail and drills a hole for it go through. Then two of the banjo type throws, one at the points, the other several feet down the track. Hopefully this give you some idea. (I believe Carl had a hand in t...

Re: One Last Shorty

Carl, That end railing is a piece of artwork. The average person walking by would be oh that's a nice touch, but to see and know all the work that has gone into it really makes it very inspirational and very classy. and then throw in all the added details, can't wait to see it in person one of these...

Carl, sure enjoy the build, and the trials and tribulations that come with it. the Step fixture is clever.

Re: constructing electronics for semaphore signal?

very cool, it looks good! I've been using some Arduino's on my N scale layout for sounds and gate operation and thought about using them to operate some signals on my small 7.5" gauge backyard railroad by using the RF transmitter/receivers so I wouldn't need to run a bunch of wires. Just run ea...

Re: Getting (Galloping) Goosed

looking great, I like the design to it. I'm building a pseudo goose and was thinking something similar for the front truck with just a pair of wheels and axles I have, so thanks for posting that, gives me some good ideas.

Re: 7.5 inch SW 1500 with Honda?

I agree about the Mack, mine has a lot of miles on it, and it's easy to transport. Perfect for my backyard tight radius layout too :) I have a critter built on the chassis that was built at HALS, it's a 4 wheel critter pulls good, not as easy to transport as the Mack, but not as bad as a SW switcher...
