Cold saw basics

Is anyone knowledgable about the circular cold saws? I want to know the best blade rpm for aluminum bar under 2". And the best blade rpm and teeth for mild steel 2" and less. These saws seem to run very slow (44-88 rpm) and other than speed (and price) I'm wondering how they are different ...

Thanks Harold.

I would like to use the method you describe if I can understand it.

How do I see the pictures you refer to?

I can't find any posted.

Roger

Nevermind. Now I can see them but I'd swear they weren't there before.

How to drill flat bottom holes?

I want to drill a blind hole with a flat bottom and don't know how to do it.

My drills have 118 deg points and don't leave a flat hole.

Any suggestions?

I can't recommend a brand but I bought a Harbor Freight bandsaw that normally sells for about $149. I got it on sale for a bit less. It is OK but the blade keeps jumping off the wheel and nothing I have tried seems to fix the problem. Sometimes it can saw through an inch or two of mild steel without...
