Mechanicalmagic, I was going to donate the hair to L.O.L, but the girl that cut it said it had too many split ends. :? It was a mess! And I don't doubt the girlfriends friends told her the same thing about her new boyfriend. The Jeep, well, it has an extended warranty, so the shop can fix it!! Retir...

I've been making some changes......

Well... some have told me it's a mid life crisis, I say I just wanted a change. About 3 months ago I got my 19"+ ponytail cut off and quit wearing a hat all the time. (hadn't had a haircut for about 17 years) About 2 months ago I got a new girlfriend. About 1 month ago I got a new truck (Jeep W...

IMO, for $30, it's well worth it for a novice to learn on. That's the key word.... learn. I wouldn't expect to weld perfect joints, on exhaust pipe at that, right off the bat. Get some scrap and start learning. Then, once you know more of what you need for the work you want to do, upgrade to the pro...

Re: Clearance Drill

Clearance drill regards the drill size that allows the screw to drop through. Slightly larger than the major diameter of the nominal screw size. Again there are choices depending on what one is doing. Body drill may be another term used meaning pretty much the same thing. Or, if you didn't intend o...

Well I'll be... So, that's what those are. I've got a half dozen of those "burr away" things, but mine are labeled "Cogsgill" (or something like that). Never new what they were. I thought the spring loaded blad thingy was just some sort of retainer that something (that I was mis...

I've been using a tool made by a company called Cogsdill a good bit lately at work. It's a spring operated deburring tool that works really good on cross drilled holes. It's called a Burr Away I got a set off eBay. Here is a PDF file of the tool. And there is one for 3/16" holes http://www.cogs...

Well, if traveling about 280 miles Northwest isn't outta the way, there is a show at the Portersville Steam Show Grounds. But it's not until Aug 2nd - 5th. You can check out their site here.... http://www.portersvillesteamshow.homestead.com./ And not steam related, but they had a 100 mile tractor cr...
