Re: Hardinge BB4 wiring issues - Please help!

That all makes sense, thanks for the input. I will keep shopping around.

Re: Hardinge BB4 wiring issues - Please help!

Honestly, when the thing is running without blowing the fuse the motor that is in it is more than capable of doing the job, which is where this all began. It runs quiet, is strong, and I have not had an issue with it stopping while in service. Nothing comes on now, after moving the wires around in t...

Re: Hardinge BB4 wiring issues - Please help!

I will look into the Amazon motors Bill. I did notice yesterday that our Harbor Freight has one that is 1hp - 110V - that is reversible for $169.00.
So there are some options out there. Thanks.

Re: Hardinge BB4 wiring issues - Please help!

Hi, Mike,

Ok, that makes sense.

I will make sure to find a place down here that can take a look into that.

Re: Hardinge BB4 wiring issues - Please help!

I will absolutely do that. We are going to try and convert it back over to 220V, so I will most certainly get another power cord for it.

Thank you.

Re: Hardinge BB4 wiring issues - Please help!

Hi Mike,

Sorry, I meant figuring out whether or not it would run at two speeds through photos. I misspoke there when I typed in "if it can run in reverse".

You had already mentioned that reverse was possible. I meant to ask about the two speeds. My bad.

Re: Hardinge BB4 wiring issues - Please help!

Hi Mike, I have been looking at 3 phase motors and a VFD, and honestly they are really pricey. If money were no option I would run that route pretty quickly, but I am not in a position to drop a grand plus some on it at this point. Between what is going on in the country, and my current fixed income...

Re: Hardinge BB4 wiring issues - Please help!

Thank you for the response Bill Shields, I am considering all of my options at this point, and a new motor would be a good way to go.

Re: Hardinge BB4 wiring issues - Please help!

I have had little to no luck finding any information on this machine or the motor at all. I may be looking in the wrong places, but from my experience there is not a lot out there. Hopefully you have access to more resources than I do, I am sure it would be helpful. I did draw up a crude map of wher...

Re: Hardinge BB4 wiring issues - Please help!

Hey Mike, Yes, I can post a photo of the diagram. Sorry that I have not done that already, I dropped the ball there. I know what it is like to try and troubleshoot someone's issues without all of the information, and how frustrating that can be. I try hard not to be that guy, so sorry about that. I ...

Re: Upside down images

Good afternoon all, I am posting from a Windows 10 desktop computer and some of my photos are right side up as well as upside down. I have tried changing orientation in the Microsoft photo program that comes with Windows 10 and it does not seem to make any difference at all. Just figured I would sha...

Re: Hardinge BB4 wiring issues - Please help!

Thank you for responding NP317

That is a good idea, I will start with the power cord. I did stretch it out to measure it the other day, it is entirely possible that that is when it disconnected.
