Re: Mystery rifle a guy brought me

12L14 I think you may have figured it out. This thing looks a lot like that Suhl, commercial M71 type action. Thank you so much for that lead.

Re: Mystery rifle a guy brought me

Hammermill, your on the same page as I am. There are no rails or broaching at all on the bore of the receiver. As far as I can tell the only lug at all is the bolt handle, which is soldered onto the body so i dont trust it at all.

Re: Mystery rifle a guy brought me

I see the similarities to a Mosin but I cant find any single shot Mosins. This thing has a completely solid bottom and no locking lugs at all in the front. The piece of wood on this gun is beautiful, its just so covered in crap its sad. If the metal is salvageable he wants to strip the stock and ref...

Mystery rifle a guy brought me

So a guy who lives up the street from me brought this old rifle by for me to figure out what it is. It was in his grandfathers safe when he died 35 years ago. It looks a lot like a French Berthier rifle except this one is single shot and has quite a different bolt head, with no locking lugs at all, ...

Pete
Exactly! Why dont they make Spindex or Collet Blocks for ER-40? Seems like a bit more utility for not too much more size, plus Ive already got a full set of ER-40 and dont want to have to buy ER-32 or 5C.

Re: making a mount to attach on a pic rail

With some creative fixturing you can make a female picatinny mount using just a regular endmill. The internal angles are 90* so just set the work at 45* and you have your internal angle.

Why not machine the backplate and chuck OD like a set-tru Buck so you can true it with set screws?

Re: Bandsaw problem

Well guys Im still stuck. I went through the thing today from one end to the other. Cleaned it, oiled it, checked the blade, adjusted the rollers, made sure everything was running true, still wont cut a loaf of bread! Im gonna buy a new blade for it I think. Bandsaw problem

I have a Delta 9" Bandsaw in my shop that I use for cutting metal stock. It has worked fine for this purpose for years now. I moved about 6 months ago and when I set it back up and bolted it to the bench I made for it it will not cut anything now. It acts like the blade is just compleatly dull,...

Re: how to determine proper major or minor diameters on oddb

I have a chart that I got from a place I use to work that tells me the actual single thread depth for either ID or OD thread forms for threads from 4tpi up to 40tpi or so. Ill post it if y'all want.
