Re: Would You Buy Used Tanks?
I don't know what prices are like down there, but comparing those prices to up here, I think you did good. Last time I enquired about the purchase of bottles up they were around $600 for a 300 (T at Linde), plus the fill.

Re: Making a sharps barrel in my lathe.
I have enjoyed following the threads on the building of this fine firearm. She looks great! I'm looking forward to hearing how she shots.
Re: Ways
Along those lines I think there is about to be a lot of information lost with older gentleman dieing off. Those who farmed with horses are on the decline, those who worked with manual machines, again in a similar category. Mechanics don't exist any more, they have been replaced by part replacement t...

Re: Semi Trailer Tires
A common Trailer tires is: 295/75R 22.5
It would stand roughly 40" tall. Or 5" in 1.5" scale.

Re: Semi Trailer Tires
I was thinking about casting some in urethane that are exact scale reproductions of an Alcoa 22.5" wheel and tire for a while now. Is there enough interest in these? In my "other life" before retirement, I was a Die Sinker and used to make the forging dies for the forged aluminum tru...

Don't know where you've tried looking, these places look to be manufacturing companies. They may have drops they would be willing to sell... http://www.thomasnet.com/nsearch.html?cov=GA&which=prod&what=ASME+Code+Pressure+Vessels&heading=91721100&navsec=modify&act=C%2CM http://www...

Re: Building my 1.5" scale Clishay as a beginner
Just a thought, would you want to plumb one burner, perhaps the center one, to a separate gas supply to act as a pilot light? That way you could shut off all the others and let the boiler "simmer" on a long down grade or at the station and them easily turn up the heat as you pull away or ...

Re: Power Mig 300 Questions
Talking about arc transfer types, it depends on what you are welding. If it is light sheetmetal, likely spray is not to be used, short circuit would be your choice. A person can lay huge weldments in a hurry with a good metal core wire with spray transfer, and one doesn't have to worry all that much...

Re: Power Mig 300 Questions
I can't really help you with that one, with the information given. Your area, condition of the machine, what it's life has been will all be factors. The owners perceived value can have more influence on the price than other factors and at times be very unrealistic. Compare other machines in your are...
