I would say that the hub, #44, screws onto the shaft of #32 and holds the assembly together. It would make sense that the threads are left handed.

I've worked on a number of Milltronics machines. They were all 3 phase input. I would say yours was at least originally due to the 3 phase disconnect and three phase wiring that is in place. Were you able to run the spindle when you had it powered up? Without better pics of the wiring connections it...

If you took it apart and didn't have a keeper for the magnets they will probably have to be zapped. Failing winding insulation and bad condenser are also indicative of a weak spark.

You bought the cylinder cocks from Reeves, why not order the proper tap set from them??

Have you considered Rivnuts? Faster install, no welding. Drill a proper hole and install like a pop rivet. Most any size you want.

My guess is they are collets for drill bits used on a Black Diamond style drill sharpener.
